Meet Rodney Cordle, Managing Director, Bermuda Branch
Rodney, a life-insurance actuary for over 20 years, began his career as an actuarial student for Allianz Life Insurance Company of North America in the summer of 1988.
During 11 years at Allianz, he participated in four actuarial rotations, involving pricing, from either the direct or reinsurance company perspective. As Life Actuary, Manager of Reinsurance, he managed an actuarial staff responsible for reinsurance pricing, treaties, reporting, and valuation oversight. He was responsible for the procurement, monitoring and profitable management of Allianz’s entire life-reinsurance business.
Later, Rodney worked for three other life insurance companies that together provided him a wide base of practical experience and expertise.
Prior to joining The Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada, Bermuda Branch, Rodney was with the ACE Group of Companies, headquartered in Bermuda, where he developed a life-reinsurance business for ACE Tempest Life Re. He was responsible for the planning, marketing, pricing, negotiating, reporting, valuation, and risk management of life-reinsurance treaties sold to U.S. life insurers, from an “off-shore” perspective.
After successfully implementing ACE’s life-reinsurance business in Bermuda, Rodney moved to ACE Life USA in Stamford, Connecticut, to join a three-man senior management team charged with building a U.S. based full-service life-reinsurance company.
Today, as Managing Director of the Bermuda Branch of The Standard Life Assurance Company of Canada, Rodney is eager to win your trust by developing customized reinsurance solutions based on integrity, flexibility, and performance.
